I'm a Math 8 teacher doing a unit on Algebra. I use technology in my instruction (teach with touch-screen tablet computer + digital projector, have a class website with videos, games and resources, blog, etc) but want to find more student-centered activities utilizing technology to promote understanding and engagement in mathematics.Does anyone have any ideas or want to collaborate on a technogy-rich Algebra unit? Thanks :)See More

I teach Math 8 and I'm doing an inquiry on how providing increasedoptions for at-home support will affect my students' competence andconfidence in mathematics. Some strategies I currently use are:-havinga class website with a blog and wiki attached-uploading notes, assignments and providing links on the site for games and furthersupport-email correspondence with students seeking supportIwant to kick it up a notch. Some ideas I am throwing around are:-usinga wireless tablo to record process with voicethread (although I have noidea how to do this yet)-using Skype to set up some tutorial timesin the evenings for students needing some extra support (but not tootime consuming, maybe half hour a few times/week)Does anyonehave any other ideas as to how I can go about this? Thanks!!!See More
