Kaplan University is a different school of thought.® We expect our online conference to do the same, provide a different school of thought about how talented educators can learn from each other by creating a virtual conference space. Many of the best learning experiences occur in communities.
During KU Village 2011, you can:
• Interact live to share your ideas about teaching and learning
• Learn about emerging technologies that will change both online and site-based classroom experiences
• Visit the virtual “Greenhouse” showcasing new classroom teaching technologies, presented by our Innovations Lab blog http://innovationslab.wordpress.com/
• Free pre-Conference Workshop 9/26: DIY Media: Transform Your Teaching


Our distinguished panel of KU Village speakers will include:
• Karen Boutelle, founding director of Boutelle Associates, LLC
• Sunil Chand, professor and director of the EdD program in the Center for Higher Education and Organizational Change at Benedictine University in Lisle, Illinois
• Ethan Gilsdorf, poet, teacher, critic, journalist, and author of the travel memoir investigation Fantasy Freaks and Gaming Geeks: An Epic Quest for Reality Among Role Players, Online Gamers, and Other Dwellers of Imaginary Realms
• Robert N. Lussier, professor of management at Springfield College
• Sonny Randall, leadership development manager for US Bank
Tom Whitby , author of the Ning site Educator’s PLN, co-creator of #Edchat, founder of seven educational groups on LinkedIn, and educational blogger of My Island View: Educational, Disconnected Utterances

In addition, KU Village will include presentations by Kaplan University leaders including Wade Dyke, Geri Malandra, Gregory Marino, Kara VanDam, Brenda Sugrue, and Lori Williams.
Registration begins on July 25 and the first 200 registrants will receive a KU Village USB flash drive. In addition, each participant will have the opportunity to win various door prizes.
