The personal learning network for educators

I will be teaching a Multimedia class next year and want to include animation. Does anyone have any suggestions for free or inexpensive programs.

Blender is good and there are several good tutorials online.

Our multimedia teacher also uses green screen technology. There are a couple of free and cheap programs for that. I will try and get a list of what he uses and post back.

Pencil is neat. Lets you do 2d animation

I enjoyed using Go-Animate for a project recently. Comes out looking like the 'What Matters' Video I have posted in that section. Took just an hour or two to do, including taping my voice, etc.
I've started using www.doink.com with G3-5. Very engaging.
Using it to illustrate poems and short stories that students will be performing for an upcoming speech festival.
