The Educator's PLN

The personal learning network for educators

ISTE 2012 is coming up in mid June. The newest, best thing about attending Education Conferences is the number of connected educators who attend. Attendees get to meet face to face with people they have had a connected relationship with before ever meeting in real life. I would like to use this discussion place to connect with people before the conference even opens. It would be great to let us know if you are attending and how to best follow you. Twitter is my connection method of choice. Follow me at @tomwhitby on Twitter. I will be tweeting details of the event as the conference unfolds. If you are not attending the conference in person, following those who are, is a great way to get a feel for the conference. This is all part of being connected educators. So, to sum up: will you be attending #ISTE12, and what is your Twitter handle? Feel free to add any other comments as well.

I will be there! My user name on Twitter is @kathycook1. I am looking forward to the conference and networking with other educators. See you there!

A group from my school will be there for the first time. My twitter handle is @schultzwjhs. With me will be @azjd, @tim4nd, @suez1619, @dialkt, and @mrbartleyaz

I'll be attending for the first time since San Antonio 2008 I believe. Definitely the best part is getting to meet those who we've gotten to know only virtually. Last time I remember it was a question of do you hug or shake hands with someone you've never met but gotten to know so well? I keep thinking I need to change my twitter avatar as my hair has gotten a lot grayer since the picture was taken. Oh well, it's more about connecting and removing the barriers of having to use technology to share and discuss then it is about whether an avatar matches one's appearance :) I'm really looking forward to meeting you Tom as well as the rest of the #edchat group. My twitter name is @derrallg and I'm also looking forward to meeting others in the Educator's PLN to hear about inspiring experiences which elevated and transformed the learning happening in the classroom.

I am considering going to ISTE, but I haven't even had a chance to look at the kinds of speakers/ panels that will be available.  I just started blogging this year (mypaperlessclassroom.org), and I really want to realize the awesome potential of PLN's

Wrapping up another year

I teach sixth grade, so I will be saying goodbye to my students in about a week. I'll see them in the hallways, but it won't be the same. They'll never be in my classroom again. That's weird to think about right now, when all I do is see them.It has me wondering; did I serve them as best I could? Did I impart all the wisdom I could into their little brains? Did I ignite a spark, or reaffirm a defeatist attitude?I have to be honest, there are some kids I won't miss. You know the kids I'm talking…See More

"You are correct which makes this a even more sad situation. It can easily be said that the students with disabilities who are included in the general education classrooms do receive the same level of technology as their non-disabled peers. However,…"
