I am offering a final session of professional development for teachers in conjunction with my dissertation research. The professional development consists of 6 modules over a 6 week period of time and takes place completely online.  This session will take place from March 7, 2011 to April 15, 2011. Teachers must be registered by March 4, 2011. Hi Deb! It has been a while! Hope you are well.

The course will take place from March 7 to April 15.There are 6 modules over 6 weeks (one per week).  A  minimum of 15  hours commitment. Most districts I have worked with have been gracious enough to offer inservice or CEU's.

Module topics such as conducting effective searches, wikis,Internet safety, digital bookmarking, digital storytelling, word clouds, and high quality content resources will be included.

Catch up or recovery?

I've been intrigued by the language of "catch up" which has come from government ministers and even the Children's Commissioner. The idea that lockdown has resulted in lost learning and a widening of the gap can't be disputed but it is the solutions put forward by government which has revealed the reductive nature of the government's attitude to learning and to young people.
