The Educator's PLN

The personal learning network for educators

I am an education student from Manitoba, Canada and by next year I will be ready to start applying for teaching positions! I will admit that I do not know a lot about what actually goes on during the interview process and that makes me nervous about applying.

Is there a "standard" format that school divisions are asked to adhere to when they interview candidates? I've heard of some interviews that are simple question-answer format and some where candidates have been asked to complete a written portion as well (test format, sample lesson plan, etc).

If there are any administrators that would be willing to share what they look for in a candidate I would appreciate their ideas.

For those of you who have gone through the interview process, what are your suggestions?
