The Educator's PLN

The personal learning network for educators

Recently I attended the Tech Forum Chicago and chose to sit in on the breakout session titled "Integration of technology with the Common Core."  I teach and live in Wisconsin and my district is currently following the Common Core curriculum for Math and Literacy.  I guess I am just wondering your thoughts on the integration of these standards as they relate to technology.  Are others finding the transition as difficult as we are?  The concept of changing over to meeting all of these standards has been far challenging enough let alone getting in all of the necessary 21st century learning skills we know are truly important.  Anyone else having this difficult of a transition?  Any helpful hints?

I find integration to be easiest when I step back and see the "content" standards through the mathematical practices.  Technology flows easier from them and allows the content to be situated in practices that can be linked with technology.
