The Educator's PLN

The personal learning network for educators

Hi All,
Which program do you use - Kid Pix or Pixie? Why? We're a Mac school. I've been happy with Kid Pix for the past 15 years, but I'm wondering if there's a benefit to switching to Pixie. Thanx all!

Kid Pix is not being updated anymore - as you move to up to date machines and O/S, you may see issues. Plus, Pixie is made for schools, lots of project starters, libraries of great art, plus lots of ways to export, print, and share. Download the demo and give it a try... http://www.tech4learning.com/pixie

Full disclosure, I've partnered with Tech4Learning (makers of Pixie), so maybe I'm biased, but they are a good company and really care about teachers.
Sylvia,
Thanx for your response. That's exactly what I wanted to hear. I've worked with Tech 4 Learning before and found their tech support to be amazing! They respond personally within 24 hours, and don't give up until they solve the problem. I've done a lot with Media Blender. I love it. Is that being replaced? I don't see it advertised anymore.
Thanx again!
Faith
I believe so - but they have a new program called Share that looks pretty cool!
Actually, MacKiev is now making a Universal version of KidPix Deluxe 3, and it integrates nicely with iLife, and runs great on the Mac. We've used it for a couple of years now, and I'm quite pleased with it. You can read about it here: http://www.mackiev.com/kid_pix.html.

Integration with The Latest Technology in Education Field

It is with certainty that we can say that the future of education is looking very bright. Today the kids are taught so many new innovations that we adults couldn't have imagined learning at school. They are also given exposure to more practical lessons. Integration with the latest technology and the accessibility to global platforms have made the industry take a whole new perspective towards imparting knowledge to students. Though the current generation is much advanced and keep up with the…See More
