Comment by Miss L on February 5, 2012 at 6:34pm Hello to everyone!
I am currently working on a project for my "Students with Exceptionalities" class and am looking for information about teaching students on the autism spectrum.
I would really like to include some quotes from teachers on:
1 ) What are some of the opportunities that teachers face when teaching students on the autism spectrum?
2 ) What are some of the challenges that teachers face when teaching students on the autism spectrum?
3 ) What do you want other teachers to know about teaching students on the autism spectrum?
If any teachers would be willing to provide a quote that I can use in the presentation portion of my project I would really appreciate it!

Comment by Morgan Kolis on March 13, 2011 at 5:26pm In my resource room for students with moderate-intensive special needs, I mostly use the TEACCH methodology for all of our students with disabilities, not just those with autism. We also use behavior modification strategies to work on specific behaviors, social skills training, socio-emotional lessons, etc.
Is anyone using Pivotal Response Training?
In my opinion, this is just a great way to speak to your students, to encourage language, and to reinforce appropriate behaviors, but maybe I am missing something.
In order to see what I might be missing, I was hoping someone using the strategy could respond...
Thanks!
