The personal learning network for educators

I am a member of a county-wide Autism Collaborative (meaning I am one of 10 teaching professionals and parents whose goal is to train other teachers, not only in our county, but outlying counties as well as bring awareness to the community).

I would like for someone to send me a link to something similar to: "Autism Awareness for Police/Fire/EMT Personnel."

I feel certain this has been done professionally and it would be a great help once we have this training scheduled.  Thanks for any ideas.

Hi Pat,

I was recently talking with Ted Januse (a teacher of autistic and special needs learners in CA) he created this community based organization Cops for Kids with Special Needs - which has a website: http://www.copsforkids-edu.org/

You might find this group of interest. Good luck!

Thanks for your suggestion. Found out that he (Ted Janeuse) works mainly with fundraising for children with disabilities. He is, however, reaching out to his network to see if he can find materials/videos/ etc. so we can accomplish this goal. I appreciate you sending me this lead.

Sorry it took me so long to respond.  I do appreciate your input.  I made that contact and found that their main focus is raising money for programs/scholarship money, etc. FOR people with autism.  Ted responded quickly and did look for resources for me.

I found this affordable DVD to use that does a good intro job (only about 20 minutes).
