Wondering if there are any high school Anatomy teachers out there. I am teaching Anatomy & Physiology for the first time, and I'm not in love with the textbook. I might be able to get it changed. Anyone have a textbook they recommend for a high school, year long anatomy course? This is at a private college preparatory school. Thanks!
Terrific set of 15 videos by the Walter and Eliza Health Institue (WEHI). Fantastic detail on subjects such as Origin of Breast Cancer, the Immune System and Insulin Production and Diabetes. (Go here: http://wehi.tv/)
This is the future of Biology education.
If you liked "Inner Life of the Cell" by Biovisions, you are going to love this TED talk by one of the animators, Drew Barry. It really gets going at about half way.
Just downloaded a wonderful iPad app called Back in Time.
Costs a bit but the graphics and detail are awesome.
Great reference for the teaching of evolution.
Hey Penny.
When you get a chance, can you put the Psych Teachers webpage on here?
Not Biology, but close!
Hi Gerry and Bio gurus
If you have an iPad found a great little App for Senior Students called "Biology for iPad". Good for summarising key points of some Bio content.
University of Utah's Learn Genetics site has just updated their stem cell page.
Lots of good information.
Just been sent this site: Biology Experiments
Looks like a good range of practicals if you are looking for something new.
The Scientific Method - fully explained.
Great link to an article on how scientists used the Scientific Method to not only discover something worthwhile, but then make predictions about that discovery and then test them and publish the results.
A great read.
And just in case the first link doesn't work, here it is: http://www.guardian.co.uk/science/punctuated-equilibrium/2011/jan/2...
