The Educator's PLN

The personal learning network for educators

I am about to start teaching ICT to students in grade 6/7 in Tasmania, Australia - this would be students aged 11-13.  I want to teach them about using delicious bookmarking and am wondering if there are any teachers who already have some lesson plans written that they wouldn't mind sharing. I will acknowledge where I got the plans from and they will also be added to the pages on my grade 6/7 ICT blog.  I love the way students can tag their website pages but how we can also use RSS feed to add the links to our blogs etc.

Whenever my middle schoolers are doing a major research project, they bookmark their research sources in delicious and add me to their network. That way I can see the sources to make sure they're research quality. They also have access to all my bookmarks, so sometimes I direct them there.
Hi Sue,

Can't help you with the former, but as for adding your Delicious links to your blog - I notice you use Wordress. There's a widget that's part of the Wordpress toolset that you can add - this video shows how you can do that:

If you need to know a little more about RSS from Delicious, then you might find http://delicious.com/help/json useful.

Hope that helps and I look forward to seeing your Delicious links appearing on your blog soon.

It's horrible. We should teach our young generation not to be thieves and avoid plagiarism.             But theft it's not the biggest problem. As educator and psychologist I did a range of anonymous tests and I found that the most common reason of plagiarizing is fear.Yes, fear.Fear of being incorrect.Fear of being not accepted in college or university.Fear to show their own feelings and personal…See More
