The Educator's PLN

The personal learning network for educators

I know that this is probably a question that has been out there a lot, but...

My elementary school just aquired a class set of ipod touches.  I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions about ways to use them in the classroom.  We have loaded some apps and have set them up for students to be able to take Accelerated Reader quizzes on them.  Any suggestions for grades PK - 5 would be very beneficial!

Thanks in advance!

There are many podcasts out there that might be curriculum related. One thing you might do is to have students listen to the podcasts and then discuss the key ideas.
Check out this project Jen ... I am hoping to get some in our junior classrooms to.

A good sources for information on might be Kelly Tenkely. Her twitter name is @ktenkely. Hope this helps.

Dragon Dictation is a great free app that allows the user to talk into the itouch and will type down the words (then you can email it to print). Great for a student with poor written output. Use your Handwriting Gold is a good one to make printing more engaging at an early primary level. For my Kinders, I had a number of apps I recommended, like Matches. If you want to check out my website, I've got more listed there.
