I've been thinking about starting an educators' supper club. What would motivate you to attend a small dinner with other educators beisdes free food and perhaps a glass of wine?

Announcement: We've reached 34 members, including our first principal. Welcome one and all. Also, if you are a Pearl Jam fanatic, contact Charles and his 6th graders for a jolly good Jam session.

What would you like to learn from this ning? How can we use this tech or other apps in the classroom?

Haven't been here in a little while! Nice to see more joining this network. Nice to meet the new members!

I created this Differentiated Learning site for my NECC 2009 presentation and for our district teachers. I wanted to share it here since it has resources and ideas for elementary teachers.

My professional background includes speech therapist, Learning Disability specialist, classroom teacher, educational diagnositician and administrator of early intervention programs. Currently, I am building a small business of educational support for families and teachers. I am also turtoring several elementary students in the area of reading. Looking forward to hearing from elementary teachers. How is your school structured to promote collaboration among teachers?

Hello fellow elementary school educators. Don't see any principal in the group. I'm sure you will accept me. My education should never end and this is my expectation for our staff and students. I'm try to provide the best education possible for our students. It can't be done in this day and time without technology. Hoping to learn for all of you.

Hello to all, I have been teaching for 16 years in a K-9 school. My current teaching assignment includes responsibilities as a technology learning coach, teacher-librarian and music teacher. Most of my time is spent developing technology infused lessons across all grade levels and subject areas. I am looking forward to sharing resources and educational thoughts.

Hi everyone. I taught all grades 1-5 before becoming the curriculum coordinator at a lower school. This is my tenth year in this job- an amazing position where I get to sequence, review, and develop new curriculum- in depth- with the faculty- as well as mentor new teachers and help experienced ones. I continue to be amazed at how much there is to learn and love my job because of that! Looking forward to exchanging and discussing ideas.

I am a retired teacher of 26 years. Taught 2nd grade a quarter of a century (makes sound really old right?) BUT true...

Taught 1st grade one year, but 2nd was my true teaching niche'. Loved it and did a lot of technology with them my last few years!

I stayed active in my district after retirement with ed tech.

I told a group of new teachers in August that "if you go into teaching for the right reasons, you die a teacher at heart!: I will always consider myself a teacher!

Nice to meet all of you (or see the ones I already know!)

Catch up or recovery?

I've been intrigued by the language of "catch up" which has come from government ministers and even the Children's Commissioner. The idea that lockdown has resulted in lost learning and a widening of the gap can't be disputed but it is the solutions put forward by government which has revealed the reductive nature of the government's attitude to learning and to young people. To reduce education and learning to an accumulation of facts devoid from any contextual influence is just simply naive.…See More
