Comment by profteresamac on July 12, 2012 at 3:59pm hi, I thought I would share my presentation slides with you as I mentioned them here a while ago. You can see it here: http://www.slideshare.net/teresamac/llas-2012
It was a large scale pilot with 100 students submitting a mahara e-portfolio through moodle. Students found it a useful exercise in reflection and transferable skill acquisition.
Comment by Tanya Alvarez on July 10, 2012 at 11:08am Thanks Daniel for your quick response. I want to go digital because I want my kinders to have an audience that can respond and give feedback to them on their work. It very motivating for them to share their work with others. We can post videos, recording, drawings, really there is no limit on what can be posted. I started a class blog and twitter last year and the parents loved it. Parents like to see what their kids are doing at school plus they can talk about it at home that night instead of what did you do at school today nothing! I am just taking it to 21st century.
Comment by Daniel Spielmann on July 10, 2012 at 5:08am Hi Tanya,
what about Wordpress? It is pretty common, relatively easy to use and with the custom post type plugin you can add further ePortfolio functions. I wouldn't know if Kindergartens can deal with it, though.
It's interesting to see ePortfolio make its way into (very) earyl education - what are the driving forces that make you want to go digital with the kids' portfolios? Do you have any opinions of parents about this?
Comment by Tanya Alvarez on July 9, 2012 at 3:40pm I am creating eportfolios in September with my Kindergartens and I am looking for some feedback on which blog platform to use. The idea is that on our class blog, each child would have one page where he/she would post. Any recommendations?
Thanks
