I'm liking IOS 4.2 using Jacaranda ebooks (www.jacplus.com.au) with QuickOffice (Google Docs) and iBooks (PDF). Just need the Flash content to work.

We are looking at iPads in the school for students to have textbooks on eBooks and taking notes but we have problems with apps not working with our proxy server and our new eBook supplier requires Flash to work. A dilemma!

I don't have an iPad but I do have an ipod touch.
Very easy to do student rolls (using Attendance), add notes (using CJournal) and finally add reminders, calendar notes and appointments using an app called Informant.
Great to have all this on one device.
Am looking to build an app to take notes on student during class time so would be interested in hearing if anybody (eg Rachel!) has something like this already.

Is it too ambitious to suggest that an iPad can be used to:
- contact the student office if a student is absent from your class?
- send an email home straight away if a student hasn't handed up an assignment?
- take a photo of the class at the beginning of a lesson and let face-recognition software take the roll for you? (Does the iPad have a camera?)
- allow students access to Twitter (or something like it) to give you feedback during your lesson.

This is all just off the top of my head but I think that the immediately-on-and-connected aspect of the ipod touch/iPad has a lot of potential.

Applying an anti reflective cover to an iPad screen

On the 3rd Floor of Airport Plaza (which is not at the airport) Chiangmai, north Thailand is a technology area ... this shows one of the small open stalls putting a anti-reflective coating onto an iPad ... about Baht 600 .... US$20 .
Looks easy ... would you do it yourself?
