I used the SloPro app in fourth grade recently for a writing lesson. My goal was to have students expand their writing from one short sentence to two or three more descriptive sentences. Here is a write up of the idea and the app on my blog http://www.ideasforeducators.com/1/post/2013/02/slow-motion-writing...
I just got a grant for my Resourc Specialist classroom. I can't wait to get started. I would like to get a learning community together to discusss best applications for the iPad. Any suggestions for getting people together in my area.

Comment by Stacy Bodin on April 14, 2012 at 9:17am Dozier Elementary's "Sea of iPad Resources" for the classroom. Listed are educational apps that could be used with iPads in the classroom. The site has "500+ free apps" and "paying apps." The apps are divided by subject areas such as Reading, Math, Writing, Science, Social Studies, Music.
There are two additional categories including "book apps" and creative apps, which will allow student projects to be created. Also listed are many articles, links and blogs that might be helpful for each classroom teacher.

Comment by Veronica Oldfield on January 21, 2012 at 5:53pm Hi Everyone. 15 iPads have been bought at my school. Looking for suggestions on how to organise them efficiently - all charging, all portable aroung the school, get all apps onto them all at the same time without treating each one individually. I recall reading some time ago about other people having carts for charging then all and downloading apps to the all at the same time. How do you all oragnise them at your school?

Comment by Laura VanDerKolk on January 11, 2012 at 8:43pm I like Splashtop Whiteboard for controlling my computer from an ipad. It is easy to use and kid friendly too, to pass the ipad around. Need an app on ipad and one on your computer to have it work. Computer one is free. $9.99 for ipad
I now have an iPad! Woot, woot!
One thing I really like about it already is the number of measurement apps available for teaching Science and Maths.
Sound meters, light meters, simple rulers and even a Seismometer! All these would cost big $$ if I purchased separate equipment.
Anyway, I was just wondering if anybody had used Socrative as student-response app (like eClicker mentioned by Justin)
or
Doceri Remote which allows the iPad to take control of another computer (and therefore the Interactive White Board) wirelessly. I can imagine sitting in the class with the students and operating this app. Any thoughts?
