Edutopia's group: Bridges: The First Years of Practice

I recommend reading just about everything this website puts out, but their new teacher's group has a few nice little posts specifically geared to us newbies.

If you're involved in any sort of language art-related subject area, you need to check out ReadWriteThink.org which is run by NCTE. It has a ton of wonderful free resources for use.

teaching is about connecting. I Try to built a good positive relation with my students from day one. I Get to know them. I Treat every student as if he is my best customer. I like to make them feel comfortable. I know the word customer is in business but we teachers mean business too. I try to make it my business that my students will get all the help and support I can provide them.
