Donna:  I'll try Diipo.  I signed up and created a class, but haven't gotten past that point yet.  Thanks for the suggestion!  I am using quia for activities and tests and quizzes and I do really like it.  I have been sending stuff to the kids via their email, but Diipo may fill that need once I get used to it.  Thanks again!  Marla

Maria, there are a number of sharing tools available for teachers, and many of them are free.  Edmodo is one - there's also one called Canvas by Instructure that is great.  If you are willing to pay a bit, Schoology does a good job of letting you post documents, having interactive discussion, etc.  Zoho is another options (at a small cost.)  I hope one works for you!   Oh, there's also a new one announced this week called Diipo that seems best of all, and no charge.  http://www.diipo.com/    I like the way it works as well - part project management, part education.

Hey so at our school we have a dropbox for each teacher. I break this up into classes and dropbox all assignments and powerpoints into this. I know that other schools don't use this technology although its available for all. Your tech people just need to set it up.

I am newish, but is quia worth it or not???? I feel like there are free this available that are just as good as this program, but I don't know enough about it!

Charging is totally allowed in our school :)

Thanks,

Sarah

Ok, I'll get the ball rolling . . . I like that when I want to show them something on the internet - it's like MAGIC!  I like a hundred other things I won't bore you with right now.  Question for the group:  In the effort to go "paperless" - is quia the best option or is there something better for tests, quizzes, etc.?  I would like to post all of my powerpoints from class, my notes from class, etc. - is the best way a website?  I am currently using a Google site and Google forms.  The site is ok, but the "forms" is not working as well as I would like - the grading is horrendous.  Help?  Also, this is a small thing - but we have been told not to let students charge computers in the classroom - but seriously, am I just supposed to let 5 kids sit there without access?  So . . . I end up jumping hurdles all over the classroom as I have to hop over power cords stretched everywhere by 3rd and 4th block.  What do you do?
