Hello Everyone,

I am hoping to learn from anyone that works with high school and young adult transition programs-both those that prep for workforce and college.  What are your successes/ideas for student on the job training?  In addition, any ideas on adult learner literacy programs.  I have a Masters and am interested in a certificate program for adult learner literacy.  Does anyone know anything about employment options with this certificate/credential on teaching license.  I have worked in education at all levels and most recently adult ed for GED 2014.  Thanks for any ideas or help.  Katy

Another question I have is regarding standards based IEPS's. In Minnesota, we are required to write IEP objectives around the state standards for the grade level the student is in.

Does anyone have any helpful in-sight or websites that give examples of various objectives in the areas of science, math, and reading?

Thank you and appreciate being a part of this group :)

Hello everyone~

I am a newbie and excited about joining you!

I have been teaching for 8 years in self-contained resource room setting and struggle with the same question as Marcy. I have checked out Elaines resources and appreciate the ideas. I will investigate them further as time allows.

I will put together a resource page of my own and share with you when I get back into my classroom.

Look forward to learning from and with you all!

Hi - Miss L: No, inclusion is not mandatory in Ontario. My Board is a full-inclusion board. At least, theoretically ...:-)

Thanks for the share Janet! I like the checklist idea, it easily summarizes the important details that can sometimes fall through the cracks. In our classes we always talk about the policies and practices in Manitoba but not necessarily for the rest of Canada. Is inclusive education mandatory in Ontario?

Found this article/worksheet on TeachHUB and thought it would be a good activity to do to get some dialogue going. Probably good for teacher candidates too! http://www.teachhub.com/inclusion-educator-checklist
