The personal learning network for educators
Join me tonight May 12, 2011 and the wonderful folks at LiveBinders!
I will be sharing our Teacher Mentoring Project and would love to add your voice to the convo
The Knowledge Sharing Place welcomes Lisa Dabbs from Teaching with Soul as she shares with us one of her favorite missions - creating a mentoring environment for new teachers so that everyone can succeed. Help us celebrate the 1 year anniversary of Teacher Chat and learn how you can also be an effective mentor in your own community.
The webinar will be on Learn Central, May 12th at 5pm pdt, 6pm mdt, 7pm cdt, and 8pm edt.
Here's the direct link for tonight's webinar
Hope to see you there!
I will definitely try to be there! As a first-year teacher, I planned to seek out a mentor through this group but (considering that I was developing curriculum and prepping every evening and weekend) never found the time. I really wish I had. It has been an extremely challenging year teaching life science at a small-town rural HS and was recently pushed to resign. Lisa, would it be possible to email you a more detailed explanation of the situation (hopefully) before tonight's conversation? I don't want to post it here. Perhaps you can guide me toward potential mentors who might help me sort through and make the best of this difficult situation.
I have the explanation prepared. If it's ok to send it to you, please DM me on Twitter @dwhiteoak with an address.
Thanks so much!!!!!
Thanks for being our guest on "The Knowledge Sharing Place" webinar last night. It was a fantastic discussion and I am truly looking forward to future discussions. I will do my best in getting the rest of our local college's Education Department involved with your group as well as #ntchat. I now have columns within my TweetDeck on laptop, Touch, and iPad dedicated just to the chat. Thanks again for talking with us and I look forward to continued discussions.
You guys are so amazing! I'm so grateful for the passionate support you all bring to your work and particularly in support of new teachers. Let's really work on doing some upcoming collaborations. Maybe a Team "The Knowledge Sharing Place" with me, Steven Anderson (he's so supportive of me) and 1 more peep,on the topic of kicking off new school year for newbies. Could be great fun and a great draw to our cause. I'd also love to have you consider a co-presenting piece with me at ISTE 2012 on this topic. Talk soon!
