I am looking for a third grade class with whom my students could be pen pals . We could skype, ichat, or write letters. Any takers?

I also teach Third Grade and would love to collaborate on ideas. My partner teacher introduced me to the Wax Museum. We do this with our biography book report and invite parents and students to walk through. It is one of the highlights of our year. We'll be doing it in March and I'll be sure to share some photos.
We are making a reading fluency portfolio right now. Students practice reading a book for fluency (not comprehension) and ultimately will record it into Garageband. Here is a link to learn more about it.
I also have been having my kids blog as a way to write. Students have to write their post in their journal before I approve it for publishing on the web. Feel free to visit their posts and make a comment!
Spelling City is a great place for kids to play games with their spelling words. My partner teacher and I even let our kids pick half their spelling words based on words they commonly misspell in their writing. Here is a link to the links page on my website.
