Hello. I hope you are enjoying yourself at ISTE! I've been keeping up with some of it through twitter and it sounds incredible. I would love to go one year.
I finished my unit on the blues and I just thought I would share it with you. It is my first music integrated unit and I'm really happy with the way it turned out. Here is the link in google docs. Roots & Blues and here is the link for the glogster I made for my presentation. Thanks! I think as an artist, sharing our creative process is so important to keeping inspired, and I see that reflected in teaching as well. To me they just fit together so well. I am looking forward to learning and sharing with you, and it would be an honor to collaborate with you someday on your blog!
I am writing a unit for one of my courses right now on The Blues, folklore and song as cultural heritage of African Americans. I would love to get your thoughts on it if you are interested. I have very limited knowledge of music, but I love it and feel it has so much to offer in the classroom.

I hope you are having a wonderful day, and I look forward to continuing our conversation.
Thank you! I am student teaching at Hampton Bays Elementary on the east end of LI this coming Fall. I will be in second and fourth grade. I am very excited about it and looking forward to the challenge! I am in the graduate program at Long Island University at Riverhead, I am a career changer, I received my BA in theatre design and have worked as a professional artist. I am super passionate about arts integrated curriculum, especially as it pertains to 21st Century Learning, in fact I am writing my thesis on it.
I just took a webinar offered through ASCD with Lisa Dabbs and she mentioned building a PLN, so I am learning about all of these amazing networks available to educators. I really enjoyed your blog, and if I was a bit closer I would love to take part in your class. Anyway, thank you so much for taking the time to talk with me. I look forward to getting to know you!
