Ni hao!  If you are always willing to learn that means you are a "Hao Laoshi"  ( Good Teacher )  I've been using Rosetta Stone and Pimsleur to learn some Japanese!  What tools do you feel work best for teaching language?

Hi. I'm just starting to find my way around the site. I'm a relief/substitute teacher in Western Australia, teaching K-7 & specialist subjects (PE, Art, etc). I'll look forward to chatting with you in future. Cheers.

Hi Jessica - this group looks like it's full of great ideas! I'm a Grade 8 teacher at a middle school, so I guess my students would be in the upper age range for this group, but I've been looking at the ideas being offered here, and so many of them would work perfectly with all sorts of grade levels! A great way to share ideas! :-)

Actually I'm an Illinoisan who lives far enough north in Illinois (Lena) that we made frequent forays into Wisconsin. We often went to Monroe. I love the Kettle Moraine area around East Troy. One of my main concerns with education in America is the stifling effect of high stakes testing. I also believe the single most effective way to improve our schools is to reduce class size rather than invest in expensive programs and palatial schools.

Hello, Jessica, My wife and I have some fond memories from the area around Milwaukee. We met at New Tribes Bible Institute in Waukesha and became engaged when we worked at a Camp Timberlee near East Troy. Much of my elementary teaching experience was in southeast Asia teaching missionaries children.

I need your voice! What do you believe about your own efficacy for influencing student learning while working under education sanctions?

Hello! I am a dissertation candidate through Northcentral University and I am interested in knowing your beliefs about your ability to positively impact student learning while operating under school accountability sanctions. This study seeks to explore what skills or knowledge teachers and principals believe are critical to support their ability to impact student learning while also trying to implement school reform initiatives. This study includes a survey and interviews. Learning Management System

My school system will soon discuss which learning management system would be best to use with our students. I say, "Why choose one?" Web/cloud based system rarely require 3rd party assistance, i.e., system IT people.  The more experience students get with using a variety of LMS, the better. Suggestions?See More
