Meeting the needs of Kindergarten and 1st graders

How does your district meet the needs of your younger students who show gifted tendencies?  We have a program to pull out these students one hour a week for enrichment in reading and math.  They seem to love this time to read at higher levels and have some challenging math as well, but it relies on the talents of our volunteers who teach them.  Are there any suggestions on ways to meet these students' needs in another way?See More
