Continuous learning is the most important thing if one wants to achieve optimal results and of course, can lead to a person earning a high income. You have probably heard people saying 'You learn constantly while you live' and this cannot be truer. Most of the industries worldwide value education and strive to employ people who are well trained to finish the task…Continue

The current generations of educators have a huge burden on their shoulders. They are the carriers of change. They have to encourage project-based learning, greater collaboration between the students, insightful discussions… the list goes on and on.
Out of all trends in education, this is the most important one: teachers…Continue

I have been writing in social media about education and changes in education for about a decade at this point in time. One of my observations, as I enter discussions with educators in various parts of the country, is that many educators bring up problems within their own districts that were discussed in detail and often resolved in many other districts a number of years ago. There are topics and ideas brought up that social media has introduced, discussed, and developed as…Continue

A lingering general question hanging over the heads of all has been what effect does social media have on our society? That answer has never been so evident as it has been today as social media tools have been placed directly in the hands of the President of the United States, as well as foreign operatives. Social media is a very powerful tool that can have a lasting effect on what people do, and how they do it. Placing those social media technology tools in…Continue

All of us, English Language teachers in public Primary Schools of Greece, are familiar with the Sports Song presented in our coursebook, in Unit 2.

Don’t you feel excited when somebody brings you a present you had never expected at all and you could not believe you would like, or need so much? Well, this appears to be accurately descriptive of my current relationship with the interactive notebook approach! It’s like a new colourful, fun-filled toy that everybody likes to play with and you, the teacher who has prepared it, know that it is not just entertaining! It is meant to help others learn in a more engaging, attractive and…Continue

Have you ever had one of those days during which everybody in class has understood the grammar taught (even commented on how easy it has been), but one or some of your learners seem unable to put it into practice, as they do not remember when to use what? Well, in the public school context, cases like that are normally approached during the break, where learners can be guided individulally and introduced to various ways that will assist their learning (graphs that help them remember, course…Continue

While staying late sitting in my classroom until its dark is not the way I want to spend a day, I do find Parent Teacher Conference Night a way for me to be a better teacher.
I love seeing the family dynamic. Kids can be so funny; they behave one way in the classroom and act completely different around their parents. Seeing how much the parent loves their child is also a reminder that the kid in my class is actually someone's child. They're young and out in the world without their…Continue

As you can imagine, there will always be some students that that won't, or can't, engage with your material. if yours are struggling to get to grips with their work, you can recommend one or all of the following resources to them.
1. Boomessays: Writing an essay can be tough if you have no idea where to start. This website can give your students some pointers when…Continue
We all know that the left hemisphere of the human brain is responsible for logical thinking while the right hemisphere is the center of abstract thinking and creative ideas. It’s no wonder then when I give a creative assignment to my students, some of them are reluctant to perform it while others are very open to explore something new and try to pursue their goals and…Continue

Bad news: not all of us were born as great writers. Good news: we can improve this skill. How exactly can you become a better writer? There are few…Continue
