Sharing Favorite Apps

Recently Brainpop invited educators to share their favorite apps for all mobile devices. They are sponsoring the Mobile Device Sandbox at the Mobile Learning Experience this week in Arizona and will load recommended apps on these devices for conferences attendees to "play with" at the sandbox.

iPad2 First Impressions

After spending a few days with an iPad2, I wrote a blog about my first impressions. You can read my thoughts about the new case design, speed, smart cover, and cameras. I am excited about the iPad2 for my 4th grade classroom. Up till now my students have been sharing one iPad...my personal one. Catch up or recovery?

I've been intrigued by the language of "catch up" which has come from government ministers and even the Children's Commissioner. The idea that lockdown has resulted in lost learning and a widening of the gap can't be disputed but it is the solutions put forward by government which has revealed the reductive nature of the government's attitude to learning and to young people.
