# Basic Concepts Of Statistics

Statistics is a branch of mathematics. Statistics is the art of analyzing and concluding of data. Most of the developments of the statistics occurred in the 20th century. Statistics are used in daily life. Statistics use in medical, business, engineering, media, politics, sports, etc. To understand some basic concepts of statistics follow the below article.

Mode: The most common variable in any data is called mode.

Ex. The mode of the sample [3,6,2,3,4,3,1,3]

Here 3 is the mode of the sample.

Use of mode in our daily life:

• Mode is used in influx of the public transport.

• It is use to calculate the number of games won by any team.

• It is used in hospital.

Mean: Mean is average of any data.

Ex. The mean of [2,4,6]

[2+4+6]/3=12/3=4

Here mean=4

Use of mean in our daily life:

• It used to calculate the average marks of the students.

• It used to calculate the average speed of car or anything.

• Using mean a family can balance expenses with average income.

Median: Median is the exact middle value in any set or observation.

Ex. The median of the [2,6,3,7,8,4,5] in ascending order.

Ascending order = [2,3,4,5,6,7,8]

Here median=5

Use of median in our daily life:

• It is used to find the middle age of the students.

• It is used to calculate the distribution of the total income.

Probability: Probability is deal with uncertainty. it is the measure of how likely the event happens. Probability of any event is lies between 0 to 1.

• It used while playing poker, cards and any other game.

• Probability used in weather. “It will rain or not”.

• Probability used in home, work place and schools etc.

• Probability use in hospital. ”Probability of succeeding operation”
