Great speech by Ken Robinson at TED Feb 10
He talks about starting anew and challenging the existing understanding and prevailing understanding about education and although this isn't comfortable, that we should disenthrall ourselves.
"The dogmas of the quiet past, are inadequate to the stormy present. The occasion is piled high with difficulty, and we must rise with the occasion. As our case is new, so we must think anew and act anew. We must disenthrall ourselves, and then we shall save our country. " Abraham Lincoln.
Schools need to be spiritual places and reform ourselves from linearity and conformity to customise education to those who we are teaching.
He also talks about the dreams that children have and how so easily and mostly unknowingly we tread on these dreams.
