Why learn Cyber Security?

PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) says- nine of ten big companies have security issues. To keep business safe from the hackers it's essential the keep check that your business does not become the victim of cybercrime. The earlier business manager was required to know the DDoS or HTTPS, however now the scenario has changed.

David Upton, Fellow, Global Cyber Security Capacity Center, Oxford University says, “The problem with cyber attacks is that some are simply nips in the skin but some are knives through the heart. But we’re under increasing threat of big bad attacks.”

Though companies are eager to save their system from cyber threat but there is a shortfall of technical know-how and an acute scarcity of managerial expertise which makes organisations fall back.

Stuart Madnick, Professor, Information Technology & Director of (IC)3, MIT Sloan School of Management’s cyber security initiative, says “There is a huge culture gap between those who make money and those who count it.” As a result, “companies need people in decision-making roles that understand the consequences of cyber attacks. [But] that expertise is lacking.”

Hence, with growing demand, institutes cannot ignore to provide MBA degree in Cuber Security. There is institute which offers it as elective MBA course. But Harvard University, Oxford University, and Stanford University have whole time course.

According to Tad Oelstrom, Director, National Security Program, Harvard University, “Business leaders, government leaders, and public servants are all so concerned about cyber security that the issue sits right at the top of any corporation. There is a distinct possibility that this could be hugely damaging to companies in many aspects — to start with financially; people [clients] might lose faith that their information can be stored safely.”
According to Ernst & Young, “Boards are looking closely at their cyber security strategies. Business schools are starting to take note.”
