How do the students see the ideal teacher?

Students often complain of teachers: evaluation of the scores is unfair, lectures are dull and dry, the explanation is unclear, etc. And if there is a perfect teacher? What is important for students?

Well, if we take into account that the students - it is very funny and interesting people, it can be assumed that for them the perfect teacher is a person who:

  • won't give a lot of materials
  • will forgive systematic delays and missed lectures
  • the exams will be "kind and fluffy"

Well, if you take this issue more serious, let us draw the image of the ideal teacher through the eyes of students.

Ethnicity, gender, and age. If it plays any role in relation to the teacher, it is clearly not the main thing. Even a very nice speaker, whether he is a young man or woman, can not hold the attention of students more than one lecture if he is able to able to interest students in his subject.

Sociability. As a consequence - the ability to find a common language with any person, that is why he should be a good psychologist. Sometimes, teachers, former students, better find a common language with the students than graduates. If a person loves people (family, relatives, friends and acquaintances), there will be no problem for him to treat others with kindness, warmth, and understanding.

Accomplishments. Erudition and versatile knowledge of the teacher need to hit at the same time to inspire students to receive more information in general, and on a certain subject in particular. It is very interesting to listen to the teachers who bring a huge variety of examples, talk about different situations that took place in connection with those events or people in question in a lecture.

The way of teaching. It takes critical place in understanding and remembering of the new material. Every teacher should be a great orator. We can say that eloquence - it is a talent, and someone has it, and someone do not, but let's remember Demosthenes. He wanted to speak well and did a lot of work on himself. The diction and loud calm voice are especially important for the lecturer. In order to make the atmosphere in a classroom during the class was more trusting and relaxed, you need a connection between student and teacher, and in most cases it is achieved with small pauses during the lecture, the student takes a break from the writing of the notes and the lecturer says something interesting or fun.

Summarizing, we can say that the teacher should be especially interesting personality. Thus, the main qualities of the teacher are to communication, knowledge, expertise in their field, eloquence (word fluency, logic, articulation, sense of humor, etc.) and the constant work on himself.
