If you are new to this new mode of learning then start digging deep to get the idea. You will definitely find thousands of articles regarding online learning and the new trend that are being introduced to the education system.

Here are some of the new trends those are being implemented – using multimedia for better understanding, making the learners participate in discussions, utilising social media to keep the learners engaged, imparting knowledge in the language of technology they understand better, arming them with hands-on experience rather than stuffing the information – are few to name.

The design and implementation of online learning for the collective economic growth of a nation is necessary and technology is making this implementation seamless.

"This is technology that people have been developing for 30 years in the lab," Louise Yarnall, Ph.D., senior research social scientist in SRI International Center for Technology in Learning observed. "This is one of the first chances to see how it looks out in the wild, with real students, real instructors and all the variables."

Online learning has transformed the face of education in a way that students are able to opt in their study while on the move. This is what makes online learning popular among the students who are bound by provisos towards professional career and life. The flexibility of online learning is arming the learners with the possibility to choose when to read and what to read. Picture a full-time professional individual is participating in his Online Postgraduate Diploma in Business programme to obtain a full-fledged MBA degree without quitting his job and investing much money from his savings. Such is the magnificence of learning online.

The mingling of technology with education has evolved the process of learning so much so that no matter how remote a learner lives or what academic background he possess as long as the internet is available he can always opt for his study.

Another significant reason online learning is making the buzz these days is its promotion of active learning, the education that is needed to build a successful career. In physical school and colleges, the learners are being staffed with information among which most of them are irrelevant and have nothing to do with getting a decent job. On the other hand, online learning backs up active learning which comprises of passing on relevant knowledge and hands-on experience required for upgrading a student's career.

Online learning, if you zero in on the present-day educational scenario, is making a big difference in building the overall human development of a nation. And in the rest of this decade and several next, the popularity of online learning is likely to grow due to this reason.

Wrapping up another year

I teach sixth grade, so I will be saying goodbye to my students in about a week. I'll see them in the hallways, but it won't be the same. They'll never be in my classroom again. Did I ignite a spark, or reaffirm a defeatist attitude?I have to be honest, there are some kids I won't miss. You know the kids I'm talking…See More

"You are correct which makes this a even more sad situation. It can easily be said that the students with disabilities who are included in the general education classrooms do receive the same level of technology as their non-disabled peers. However,…"
