The personal learning network for educators
Have you ever left a Professional Development day wondering to yourself how relevant and beneficial the material was to your daily instruction? Well, this past Friday, March 11, 2011, Regional School District 6 of CT held an extremely successful PD centered around technology. Teachers expressed over and over how worthwhile and energized they felt after having participated in the day. Why was this successful? Of the 27 sessions being offered, all 27 were presented by teachers within the district. The range of topics was extensive: Digital Storytelling, Videoconferencing, SmartBoard Tricks, Building your own PLN were a few of the sessions presented. Having teachers share with their colleagues on how technology has enhanced their curriculum and has engaged thier students could not have hit home in a more meaningful way. The one question left on teachers' minds--When can we do this again!
