I have been using Office Connect for MS Office documents, but I have not tried it with a document as large as a dissertation! I think you would enjoy an iPad...I use it for almost everything now. Anyway, here is the beginning of the blog. I think you will understand the comment about large amounts of text...
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Apple bluetooth keyboard. I highly recommend this keyboard to any iPad user. I have successfully been using this keyboard with the iPad 1 and 2 and have not encountered any problems so far. It has worked with every app and website. This was a very well spent $69!
It is light but still has a "good feel." When I have something to type that is more than one or two paragraphs, I whip out my keyboard, turn it on and type away. It is that easy!
Anyone that has been struggling to create content that requires larger amounts of text will not regret this purchase!
Kate:
Thanks for sharing. I've been resisting the iPad for quite a while, but my will power decreases with every favorable post I encounter. I read your iPad teacher blog, but I had trouble reading your latest post for some reason. (It was cut off at the top.) I'm curious about the app you found that allows you to handle large amount of text. I'm starting work on my dissertation, and if I can use an iPad rather than carting around my laptop, that just might push me over the edge for an iPad purchase!
