Skills Children Acquire form the Arts That Equips Them for Success in Life

Although the world is rotating at a similar pace compared to 20 years ago, several things have changed in our lives. Technology has jumped miles ahead, attitudes have changed and lifestyles are different. This means that children today are growing up in a world that is almost completely different from the one we grew up in. Today’s world presents challenges that didn’t even exist 20 years ago.

So how does one equip their child with the right skill set to tackle this changing world? The journey starts right from kindergarten, through preschool and goes all the way past graduation. It is pivotal for their education to include the arts. Participation in the arts is increasingly important in the workplace and becoming key to success later in life. In order to put your child’s life on the right track, enroll them in day care programs or in childcare programs where the arts play an integral role.

Initially the arts help with improving overall self-confidence; motivating children to break down their barriers and consequently become more social; participate in a group function and create something that is bigger than themselves; learn to express their creative abilities as well as cultivate an attitude of expression; and much more.

As the child grows older, the word ‘arts’ itself takes on several different meanings. It helps them understand abstract concepts and create them. It also allows them to explore their imagination and realize how valuable it is in improving the world. While sciences help the child understand the world as it is, it is the arts that help the see beyond that into a world that could be. Today, that is pivotal in establishing a strong, healthy career.

I had to do a simulation in one of my Education classes arguing for or against cutting out the arts or anything that wasn't the core four: english, history, science, math. Since I am a perspective Spanish teacher, I had to argue as to why cutting out electives and arts would be detrimental for the students. I feel like my Spanish classes are what made me realize my passion in life. If I wouldn't have taken this in high school, I probably wouldn't have had this self discovery. Also, electives make our students more well-rounded which is what universities are looking for now a days!

Integration with The Latest Technology in Education Field

It is with certainty that we can say that the future of education is looking very bright. Today the kids are taught so many new innovations that we adults couldn't have imagined learning at school.
