I agree, Lenni. Blending technology and content is important for engaging students into their own learning. Majority of students have technology exposure at home and teachers need to model effective use of technology to make learning fun and exciting.
As an administrator, it so difficult to view technology in a classroom that is not being used. It such a struggle to supply teachers with the latest technology and when it is not being utilized both the district and the student lose. Teachers must be given the support that models student centered learning that infuses technology into core content.
Rachelle, great article on technology. I often hear parents using technology as a "babysitting service" in their homes. I believe that parents should limit how often their children use technology and not to use it as "babysitting". Child or student learning must be the main focus when using technology both in the homes and schools. Learning and technology should work together.
