The first day at school. How to help your child to adapt

First day of school - this is definitely stressful. However, you still have time to prepare your child for such an important and emotional event.

What exactly causes the newly created student stress? That's right: the unfamiliar surroundings, a new teacher, the children, with whom he had never met, as well as the school rules. So how do you help your child to adapt?

On the eve of the 1st day of school organize a tour for the future student. Show him the building of the school, walk in the schoolyard. If possible, be sure to walk through the corridors of the institution and acquaint the child with his first teacher. Incidentally, yard kids may well become your child's classmates. You can meet with them during the regular evening walk.

So that the kid has an idea about school rules and about how the school day passes, play in school with him. Let him be a pupil at first, and then the teacher - at the same time see how the kid has learned the rules of the game.

On the eve of the big day create a festive atmosphere in your home. You can decorate the room the child's with colored balloons, bake a huge cake and solemnly dedicate the kid in first graders. The main thing that the child had a positive mood. Remember, sometimes adaptation occurs not very easy. Surround first-grader with warmth and care. Together with you, kid cope with any difficulties. And remember, first day in college can be also difficult. Read the next post :)
