YOU AS A FAMILY CAN MAKE YOUR KIDS PERFORMANCE BETTER!

What is the correct way to approach an issue like low grades in school? Let us say that your son is in school, and he has been a good student until now, staying within the lines and doing his homework on time. He was overall a good student. But now, his performance has been steadily declining. He would not tell you what the problem is, and your efforts to teach him or help him with his work have not been helping at all. In a case like this, what would you, as a parent, do?

We know the usual solutions to this, like extra classes, paid tuition classes, home tutors, or in extreme cases, therapists to talk to. Classes and tuitions can help your kid if his problem is that he does not understand things well enough in school. Home tutors can help by giving him the one on one attention that might be required in getting over this problem. Therapy might help him if he has an underlying problem that he is not willing to talk about. But these solutions are clichéd, and do not have a high chance of working out.

This is the part where you, as a parent, can step in. Studies have shown that playing fun games for kids with your children during bedtime, together, can go a long way in improving their performance at school. This can seem a bit irrelevant, but the reasons for it are very solid and are based on real foundations.

  1. A sense of closeness: Fun games for kids played with them make them develop close bonds with their families. This leads to them opening up to them about underlying problems that they might have, which is causing problems in their academic life.

  2. Increased concentration: Studies have shown that people who frequently participate in real life games like card games or word and learning games for kids, have a more efficient brain, and can use it better for such purposes. Playing a game like this with your kid at bedtime together as a family will lead him to focus better in class, leading to a better performance in exams.

  3. A sense of belonging: Many times, it so happens that a lack of confidence within oneself leads people to mess up things that they usually wouldn’t. But with these educational games for kids, your kid will get a certain confidence within himself.

These factors make it obvious that playing games with your kids tonight will definitely cause him to be a better student. I finally understand what Parent Teacher Conferences are all about

I have parents coming into my classroom today asking how their child is doing in my class. They only have a 95, how can they get a higher grade?Really? This happens over and over again. I wonder why they're here. I don't think it's to make themselves feel better about how great their child is doing in school. I also don't think that they are very worried about the 95 not being a 98. I believe it's to show their child that they are fully invested in their education.Parents who show up to Parent…See More
