A friend and I attended our first EdCamp on August 18th in Simsbury CT. Kudos to the organizers for a well-organized, enjoyable and informative day!  It was definitely worth a  two hour road trip.

Top-down PD is often too concerned with test scores to get into the topics that really effect the students in our classrooms.  The unconference is a great way for teachers to take control of their own PD.  I will definitely attend others and hope to organize an EdCamp in my area.
