I loved project learning as a student.  Group work is always tough, you have to make sure one person is not stuck doing all the work, but a hands on approach is a great way to learn.  Part of the reason why I loved science so much in high school was because it was all hands on.  Therefore, I like being able to come up with projects for students that includes hands on activities.  It gives the students real world examples of how to use the lessons.
