I did this with my class this year at the start. We used the marshmallow as a metaphor for goals or goal-setting. You can't forget the marshmallow. And as they progressed through the challenge, most groups did forget the marshmallow. We did it twice as the TED talk indicates--skills/experience changes everything. It's a great activity. I highly recommend it. Our format: trial #1, watched TED, trial #2, discussion.
