The Educator's PLN

The personal learning network for educators

Our school (middle school six through eight) is looking at moving to a one to one laptop program. It's still in the ealry stages, but what they're looking at is each kid having a laptop for the entire school day. Are there any schools out there doing this now? What can the teachers do to prepare? Any recommendations or thoughts are greatly appreaciated!

There are hundreds of schools with 1:1 programs. Here are some resources but this is just a drop in the bucket.

Let me know if you have specific questions...I've been running 1:1 programs in middle school for 6 years. Contact me via Twitter @markbrumley.

Thanks so much Mark - I appreciate the resources. I may be in touch soon.
Hi Shawn,

Lots of schools in North Carolina have gone 1:1. Check out our NC 1:1 Ning.
I'd be happy to put you in touch with individual people if that would be helpful.
Awesome Sherry. Our middle school is looking to begin this process next fall (I presume) and was just wondering from a teacher's perspective, what you found to be beneficial as a first step?

Thanks for the link and I may be in touch soon.
