I've started reading this book. One part of me sees this as an extension of Prensky's "Digital Native, Digital Immigrant" discussion. Another sees it as a commentary on the influence of technology.
I didn't read the book but I went to the website and think I know the concept very well. Social skills, critical thinking, ethics, etc are put aside when technology is a priority? I will get the book, but I wonder what the under 30 crowd is getting wrong (and did someone over 30 write it?)
From looking on the author's page, I'm going to assume that he's over 30. http://www.english.emory.edu/people/faculty/bauerlein.htm
I was interested in potentially joining the discussion but I don't have the book. I hadn't realised there was a website I could follow while waiting for the book.

Luckily, I'm over 30!

Look forward to continuing the discussion

More Than a Sport: A Look at Scootering’s Evolution

Too many people do not have a clear idea about what is a Scooter; and much less than there is a sport based on it. Besides, it is a sport that has evolved a lot from its beginning, but if you do not know too much about the sport is hard to see it as more than a kid game. However, this sport is more than just kids and young people making scooter tricks in a square; scootering is a kind of culture and a lifestyle that has more than 20 years growing to become what it is today. For this reason, we…See More
