One of the best ways to stay ahead of the emerging technology curve, if you can, is to follow the New Media Consortium, NWM. Each year, the NWC creates the Horizon Report which covers everything associated with emerging technology and education. In the past, the reports have covered mobile technology, cloud computing, and other areas of interest to the education field. Not only do they produce the Horizon Report, but they create the following: Horizon Report - Australia-New Zealand Report, k-12 Horizon Report, and Challenge-Based Learning. These are well written reports that can provide great insight into education and technology.

I have been experimenting with Screenr, with this application you can create screencasts. You can directly upload the captured video of your presentation to Twitter or you can create your own screencast channel which features all of the how-to videos you created.
Educational value - students could create their own screencasts for the fellow students on how to access an online database, how to use a specific website, or how to use a specific computer program. This type of tools ties directly into the higher levels of Blooms Taxonomy.
This a free application - win/win situation..
